Friday Morning Videos: "Sister Christian"
Motorin'?
Listening and watching this song and video now, more than a quarter-century after having first done so, as the father of four daughters, I find the song decidedly creepy, and the video even more so. Oh well.

While that song generally helps support my view that the 80's were a horrible time, and not just for haircuts, I have to admit I do like the fact that the keyboard player seems to be wearing a fast-food uniform though much of the song.
I was hoping you'd show up, Matt, but I figured you'd go after the bassist's red parachute pants. My older brother probably had three or four pairs of those.
I had parachute pants, though black ones. (I don't think I was cool enough to try red.) And a sort of sleeveless shirt that had a collar so that I could wear a skinny leather tie with it. (Maybe it was pink- I don't remember that well.) I did have the excuse of being 10 or 11 years old, and so crazy, but still, a terrible time, and that's not even mentioning Reagan, or Phil Collins, or any other of the horrors of the period.
(I also think I understood some of the lyrics for this song for the first time. I guess maybe I didn't understand them before because they make no sense.)
