I think that by this time in The Wire, these scenes don't seem superfluous, they seem like authentic expressions of the characters' personalities.scritichttp://cogsciresearch.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907752.post-17099990209800181562012-02-22T19:16:17.186-06:002012-02-22T19:16:17.186-06:00Very nice write-up. I don't agree with all the details (e.g.: I think season 3 was arguably the best; and while I also really, really love Homicide, I don't think there's any plausible reason that its more traditional TV-show nature means its better than The Wire). I also think you're crazy to try to sum up the show in eleven scenes... but, given the essential lunacy of the task, you do well at it.

If you've never read this blog post on The Wire (not mine, don't worry), then I think it will interest you, particularly given what you said about S2. And while it's not as good (said the man who thinks S3 might be best...), this post relating The Wire to Homicide by the same blogger might interest you too.Stephenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16524368948187746248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907752.post-68142190702833400342012-02-16T19:49:56.758-06:002012-02-16T19:49:56.758-06:00Pitch perfect, Russell.Pitch perfect, Russell.Brad Kramerhttp://bycommonconsent.comnoreply@blogger.com
